Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.
The table below explains the cookies we use and why.
Cookie | Name | Purpose | More information |
---|---|---|---|
Three Rings session state | account_credentials _session_id |
To allow Three Rings to uniquely identify you once you've logged in. For technical reasons, this cookie is delivered to your browser as soon as you visit the site. This is a session cookie and is automatically deleted when you close your web browser. | To delete this cookie, close your web browser, or see the instructions below. |
Key storage cookie | keys | Administrators at organisations who use Three Rings may opt to install 'keys' onto particular computers in order to grant extra privileges to the volunteers who use those computers. Those keys are encoded into this cookie. They are deleted after 90 days, if not used. | To delete this cookie, click the "Uninstall" button on the Keys panel of the Admin tab, after logging in, or see the instructions below. |
"Use Key" checkbox cookie | use_key | If set to 'true', this cookie causes the "Use Key" checkbox on the login page to be automatically checked on your behalf, as a convenience. The cookie is set by the act of attempting to log in with this checkbox checked, and, by default, has a lifespan of 90 days. | To delete this cookie, successfully log in to Three Rings without the "Use Key" checkbox being checked, or see the instructions below. |
Cookie Test | cookie_test | In order to detect whether cookies are enabled in your web browser (without which, Three Rings will not work), and to warn the user, this temporary cookie is set and checked. It stores only the date and time it was created, and has a lifespan of just 20 minutes. | To delete this cookie, see the instructions below. |
This website does not make use of any third-party cookies (e.g. Google Analytics).
Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
Clear all of our cookies
If you'd like to clear all of the cookies that we set, click the button below. If you're trying to remove evidence from a shared computer that you visited Three Rings, you will also need to clear your browser history and possibly other logs on the computer. Note that this will also delete any Keys installed onto your computer by administrators at any organisation where you volunteer.
